Summary

Fabricate your own red bird from the famous game. This creature is made with a 3D printer and a laser cutter, along with some acrylic paint.

Instructions

3D print (red ABS) the redbirdbody.stl file (it is a small rhombicosidodecahedron, for you polyhedron enthusiasts), scale to approx. 3 inches in x, y, and z. If you don't have red ABS, you can print in white and paint with acrylic or spray paint for plastic.
3D print (yellow ABS) the 2 beak files. Scale to approx (0.7 inches x, 0.8 inches y, 0.67 inches z) for the lower beak, and scale to (0.7 inches x, 0.8 inches y, 1.33 inches z) for the upper beak.
Paint the belly area with either white acrylic paint, or white spray paint for plastic. I painted a pentagon surrounded by one row of squares and rectangles, which formed a decagon-shaped belly. (See photo of painted belly).
Laser cut the feather tuft, tail, and eye pieces. I used 1/8" acrylic in black, white, and red.
Join the beak pieces and laser cut pieces to the bird body. I use Tenax-7R plastic welder with good results.
If desired, coat the non-painted ABS areas with a thin layer of acetone to give it a shiny finish.
