Ball Bearing Lock 11mm Shackle
Last month I found an 11 mm shackle, that somone had evidently lost, lying on the street.
It was pretty beefy and inspired me to create a demonstrational lock body to fit it.
I wanted it to resemble a real, good, safe and functioning lock as much as possible.
This is my first prototype for a ball bearing lock (the type that cannot be shimmed) which is fully functional and fully 3D printed (except for the shackle, obviously).
It took me more or less an entire day in order to take the opportune measurements with calipers, make a rough sketch on a piece of paper, design it on Inventor and finally print it.
The prints came out ok and had to be lightly sanded in order to make the parts fit.
I was very pleased when i saw that my creation finally worked! it didn't have any play and the shackle stayed very strongly attached to the body.
Since this is the first thing I publish, I beg you to inform me of any mistakes i made.
Thank you for your time!
Happy printing
