Summary

I love the idea of the Second Life Mug, but it doesn't fit my jars. So I made it Customizable, and added measurements for narrow and wide mouth canning jars. (Also called "Ball" or "Mason" jars).

Please post comments with feedback, and with measurements for other jars so that I can add them to the list to pick from.

Instructions

To make a custom mug:

Select jar size. Pick from standard narrow and wide canning jars, or a 2 liter bottle. Or enter custom measurements (see below).
Rim thickness
Handle length
Handle thickness
Spacing between jar and handle (for your fingers).

To fit other jars:

For custom jars, select 'Custom' for the jar. You'll need to take some measurements. These are:
Inner Diameter: the width of the outside of the jar's mouth, not including the threads.
Outer Diameter: the width including the threads.
Thread pitch: the spacing (in mm) between the threads
Angle of threads: 0 makes the "teeth" level, an angle slants them to fit into the threads better.
Length of threads: the length of the "teeth" that grip the threads.
Rim Height: how high over the bead do you want the rim to go? The bead is the raised area below the threads, where the cap tightens down to. Make this shorter than the actual height measured from the jar, so that you're drinking from the glass jar rather than the plastic holder.
