Yet another spool design. Sized to fit Faberdashery 100M coils.
This one uses a layer of grease to damp the movement which stops it sticking or running on which seems to be a problem with some of the designs.

Instructions

This is more of a demonstration of an idea than a finished object but I have had it running as is for a few days and it's working well - the grease stops it overrunning or sticking. You may well have to design a new housing to fit it where you want it.

You need three M3 allen caps bolts and nyloc nuts, a 6mm bolt and nyloc nut and some half inch bar / wood etc for the spokes.

It should be pretty obvious what's happening - the only non-obvious bit is to smear a layer of grease between the hub and the housing (mounting bracket). I used silicone grease because it was handy and I don't think it will rot the plastic.

Getting the spoke warm when press fitting them into the hub might help - mine went in ok but there's a bit of a bulge.

If you get the tension right in the bolts on the hooks, you can slide them up and down without having to mess around with loosening them off and tightening them up again.
