Black Hole M87

From the moment I saw the picture of Black Hole M87 I wanted to 3D print it in Cura!

A while back I discovered that Cura will open a .jpg file and it will use the contrast of color to create an extruded 3D image. You can choose the light or dark areas to be raised, adjust smoothing, and dimensions. Once you're satisfied you can slice it and print!

I've included the original .jpg file here for you to experiment with, or you can just download the .stl and print it as is.

I encourage you to print it and then paint it as I did. I airbrushed mine and the results are amazing!
