How I Designed This

For designing this model, I used equation (9) from the following source:
Jacob, M., Saddle, Tower and Helicoidal Surfaces. Journal de Physique II, EDP Sciences, 1997, 7 (7), p. 1038.
I took n=p=3 in the equation.

First, I made a plot of the surface with Wolfram Mathematica 9 using command ContourPlot3D. Then I exported the model as .stl file (using Mathematica command Export) and imported .stl file to Blender (version 2.79b), where I used Solidify modifier to thicken the walls. Finally, I exported as .stl file.
