S.C.O.M // Sulfur City On Mars
The idea of the S.C.O.M (Sulfur City On Mars) project was born from two reflections about 3D printing. First, how to use real scale 3D printing as a fabrication method for a Martian base, and secondly, how to design easy-to-print 3D files in order to build a playful and fun 3D printed model that would allow anyone to explore the different possible configurations of a future human community on Mars.
The project tries to focus on more precise aspects of life on Mars, like feasibility, construction principles, functions, ressources distribution... Instead of the study of a simple formal design.
