A 3D model of a ferriswheel made as a present.

Instructions

Design the layout for the ferriswheel sides. Create a hole in the center the same size as a thick wooden dowell you have. Make sure to create smaller circles around the edge in 6-8 places the size of a small dowell you have, to keep your parts together. Then, using a 3D model making program, design the carts you will later place on your ferriswheel. Make a hole going through it at the top, big enough for it to slide onto your smaller dowells and move freely. Start printing the carts to your 3D model printer. Then, design the stand for your ferriswheel. It should resemble an upside down "T" with a hole the same size as your larger dowell at the top. Print two of these and two of your ferrishweel shapes. Then, cut the dowells to your preffered size. Lastly, assemble the ferriswheel. Some finishing touches may need to be made such as sanding the carts to prevent friction between the bottom and the other dowells, drilling the holes out in the carts so they move more freely, and creating spacers so the ferriswheel doesnt move to close to its stand and get caught.
