Summary

A talisman useful as a prop in fantasy gaming. This is designed after the first pentacle of Mars from the Key of Solomon.

Note: I do not have a good workflow for creating this sort of thing and it shows. I was only able to resolve some of the issues that cropped up and netfabb cannot open the object file -- which is why there is no STL.

Instructions

This has too much fine detail for a replicator 2 to handle, so to help reduce the risk of failed extrusion I set the layer height to 0.3mm (to keep the plastic moving, and even so it failed halfway through the details).

For an unknown reason, the object file loaded in Makerware at half height (but correct diameter) so I scaled the height to the intended 3.6mm.

With these settings and adjustments, the print is 12 layers, the first eight being the base disk and the last four the "writing". Makerware printed layers 6, 7 and 8 without a shell, instead insetting the fill significantly and then filling that margin. To print in two colors pause after the eighth layer completes and change to a contrasting color.

The other thing I did was to print at 100% fill.
