NEMA 23 Adaptations for Cherry Pi III Printer
These are three modified parts that I will be attempting to use to fit NEMA 23 motors into a Cherry Pi III printer.
Changes from the original are as follows:
NEMA 23 Stepper Mount
- Moved motor inboard 10mm
- Increased height of part to accommodate motor
- Extended "foot" further because of increased height
- Moved tool holes to fit new motor mount locations
Top Bracket with M5 Bearing Mount
- Shortened mount path to bring bearing 3mm further inboard
- Note: the M5 screw can remain the same length, the idler will must be moved.
Mini V Wheel Rod Carrier
- Extended belt mount by 3mm to hopefully catch the belt when it's in a new location
Update 8/14/2014:
I have successfully built a printer using these files. I can report that the tool access for the motor mounts is a little tight and will likely need to be drilled bigger for your needs. Otherwise, everything works great!
