            <div><p>The Yashinon DX 45mm 1.7 lens is removed from a Yashica Electro 35 GS rangefinder camera. The shutter was not functioning properly anymore. Whether the same lens removed from other Yashica Electro 35 cameras is built the same way is unlikely. Some feedback on that would be nice.</p><p>For printing the parts I used a black PETG filament. This probably will not block all light but some black paint internally at the right spots will block light enough. Shrink has been negligable. 64mm diameter became 63.8mm printed with a Renkforce RF100 at 240 Celsius setting. Settings are visible in one of the uploaded images.</p><p>The thickness of the 3D part has been defined on my copy of the lens with the helicoid and contra helicoid turned in as deep as possible. If infinity is not reached then you better print another one with some adjustment on the X axis. 3D part design is now 8,8 mm deep. Add the ring (described below) depth to that, approx 2 mm.</p><p>The 3D part printed is attached to the lens with 3 screws that fit the original threaded holes in the lens. The part shows 3 bigger holes for that, all three camfered. For the NEX/FE mount an aluminium NEX/FE to 58mm reverse ring is used. For that 5 smaller holes are provided in the 3D part. Clamping the 58mm thread into the 3D part and adjusting the marking on the 3D part to the locking hole in the ring sets the lens at the right position to drill holes in the ring. Remove the 3D part and widen the holes in the ring plus countersink them. Another possibilty is bonding the 58mm thread into the 3D part with epoxy glue but that will make it more or less irreversible, so also making it harder to control the infinity setting.</p><p>I prefer the inexpensive NEX/EF mount reverse rings or adapters as available from China above printing the bayonet too. Less wear when mounting the lens on the camera and less chance of static plastic debris appearing on the camera sensor.</p><p>The other 3D parts are small covers for the internal rear parts. They can be glued in there to cover the ungly parts and reduce internal reflection.</p><p>Other compact camera lenses you may see in the images are converted too with the help of 3D prints: Canon 45mm 1.9 from the first Canonet model, Color Skopar 50mm 2.8 of a Voigtländer Vito BL, Rikenon 35mm 2.8 of a Ricoh FF1.</p></div>
