Summary

This is my attempt at an Apollo Lunar Roving Vehicle - Semi Scale at best!

This is my first attempt at a complex self designed 3D Object - I used it as an opportunity to gain some competence with DesignSpark Mechanical.

Some prints are tricky - all printed in PLA at 0.1mm layer height with a 0.4mm nozzle in cheap PLA.

Post-Printing

The suspension frames are difficult to print and will probably need some clean up. I printed several to get 4 useable items. 2 need to be printed as mirror images.

The central control console needs printing twice with one mirrored.

The seatbacks are printed flat. The seatback rail is then glued in place and entire seatback assembly superglued to the seatbase. The vertical seatback rails will need to be trimmed to fit. The webbing of the seatback is shaped by warming the PLA over a candle flame and then holding in place until cool. There is a bit of a trick to this but its not that hard. The seat bases can also be given some shape in this way.

The high gain and TV cameras are mounted on 1.5mm carbon fibre rod but anything similar will do the job. The mesh of the high gain was from my scrap material bin.

The low gain antenna mount will also need some heat bending to fit.
