E3D V6 Scale Model 4:1

Update: 3/30/2020
Wow, what a mess. Some parts were completely the wrong name and other parts were the wrong version and did not connect properly with mating pieces.

If you printed all the files pre-3/30, reprint the new:

  • 1.75_Fin_12_and_Core
  • 3_Fin_12_and_Core
  • 3_Fin_1
  • 3_Groove_Mount_Bottom
  • 3_Groove_Mount_Top
  • Fan Duct
  • Fin_4
  • Fin_9
  • Heater Cartridge Body

One weekend I wanted to test out my ability to follow a technical drawing to create a model and used E3Ds fantastic files to create these. I try to avoid painting finished prints as much as I can as I know that if I'm going to paint it I'm going to want to sand it clean too and I just don't always have time for that. As such, this model is designed in such a way that every feature can be printed separately and glued together to recreate the same colors and look of an original E3D V6 or Volcano.

There are three folders in the zip: 1.75mm, 3mm, and Common. Common includes all the parts and components that can be used with a 1.75mm, 3mm, V6, or Volcano setup, like the clamping screws or electronics. The two diameter folders contain the components that are specific to a 1.75mm or 3mm hotend, so pick one or the other and print all the parts within. If more than one part is needed, I have noted it in the filename with a "(2x)."

Every part has been modeled with some tolerances that worked best for my 3D printer and should be enough if your printer has had even the slightest tuning (0.2mm clearance).
