Summary

A second version of the Cesar Manrique inspired lamp. This one is easily printed on a basic reprap. It does require glueing of the 3 pieces of the shade together though. Illumination provided by a 12v GU4 bulb.
The one you see in the pictures was printed in PLA and painted with a bronzing kit.

Instructions

Print the spikes, topshade and bottomshade and glue them together. Insert the bulb at this point. There is an optional bulb shade (which I printed in clear ABS), this just rests in place, it's not needed but I found the LED shining through the shade holes a bit bright. The shade and base are separated by a hollow steel tube. There is an insert piece to adapt the shade to the supporting pole (lamp adaptor), this is an interference fit with the shade and the 17mm dia steel tube that I used. If you want to use a different diameter tube you will have to tweak the SCAD for the lamp base and lamp adapter.
manrique light _ final.scad should be self explanatory and you can tweak away to your heart's content here. The important thing is when it comes to generating the stls you need to select each of the 3 components in turn in the 'component' variable at the top of the file. This SCAD file will also generate a simple base for the lamp. I just used this for assembly and testing, it's functional but not pretty.
