under-desk holder for Cable Matters Type C hub

I got a Cable Matters thunderbolt hub (AKA USB type C) (model 201031-BLK) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B076TRGGM6/ Then eventually got an Eve V (like a Microsoft Surface but nicer in some ways) and now it seems I will be working from home a lot, and probably keeping this machine in one place on my desk; so I wanted a way to mount the hub to the desk. It has to be very near, because the cable is too short; but it can just barely reach if I mount the hub under the desk and keep the V's kickstand folded down as low as possible. I have it connected to a KVM (thus I can use a real keyboard and another monitor) and to ethernet. I use binder clips to clamp this holder to the underside of the desk. So far it seems that it will work.

The box fits a tad more loosely than I was expecting, so can probably adjust the "slack" variable to a smaller value to make it fit tighter. Or line it with thin felt or something.
