iHome iH5B/iH5W radio insert backrest for iPod/iPhone

I designed this part because spares can't be found on the open market. My used iHome iH5B radio was missing this backrest for chucking my 30-pin classic iPod. see how the pins of the part fit into the holes in the radio. The part does not much resemble the original, it just provides the same function, to act as a sloped backrest for your chucked-in iPod or iPhone.

Recommend printing it with the biggest surface down. The pins will build without support, but the surface on the part's very top (in its normal orientation) will get support that requires some post processing.

I printed fine with Hatchbox Cool Gray PLA with an unheated bed at layer thinknesses of 0.2 and 0.15. But i intend to try out extra-tough, black Polymaker Polymax PLA at 0.15 or even 0.1 for final part.

Designed using OpenSCAD and including the script so you can easily adapt to a similar application. It makes use of the open-source BOSL library for OpenSCAD (https://github.com/revarbat/BOSL), so you will need to install BOSL if you want to use the script. All the user controllable dimensions are specified in variables and are easily adjusted. There are some minor geometric calculations.
