Summary

I have been playing around with personalizing items by adding relief shaped text with the 'WRITE' plugin, on top of them.
Now I have a better procedure: I print the text in a one layer hight and after a filament change, I print the object that has before been boolean differenced with the same text block.
This is a speedlimit sign with 3 colors :-)

Please 'LIKE' before collecting!

Instructions

This sign will be printed with 2 intermediate filament changes.
==> Be aware: extruder and Bed stay hot during filament exchange !! Manage with care!
Tip: Heat up the bed pretty hot, for nicest finish of the multicolor layer. Glass beds will give good results in PLA. I make them 80 + degrees Centigrade for good bonding.
Start with printing either the one layer circumference (cirle) , or the speed limit (50). It does'n matter, as long as these two come first.
(Tip: remove the Gcode that cools the bed and extruder, or stay close and reset the temps.
After the print stops, remove the skirt and change the filament
Home the extruder and print the other insert with new filament.

Home the extruder and print the last piece (3-white), which will cover all of the prints already on the bed.
Now zero the bed and extruder temps and wait for the bed to cool down.
Beware: White will be a lit transparent, so make your engravements darker, not vice-versa !
