Audeze LCD-2 Earpad Support Ring
A quick earpad replacement ring designed to keep the earpad from moving latterly along the face of the driver plate. This eliminates sheering force on the stock adhesive ring and prevents pad creep over time. Sufficient to keep the pad in place during use without the adhesive ring, but it wont provide much in the lines of resistance to pad removal.
To use, remove the stock black plastic ring from the earpad back. Place the printed ring in the place of it with the pegs facing outwards. The larger tabs go to the top. Line up the pegs with the slots on the driver plate and push in using the back side of the tabs through the open side of the pad.
Version 4 includes holes in the standoffs for a paperclip or other sufficiently small ferrous rod to go through and bridge the studs on opposite sides. The rods are attracted to the magnetic field from the magnets on the other side of the driver plate and provide some force securing the ring to the plate without needing adhesive. Should be more than enough to keep the pads attached to the plate when upside-down, but at the same time provide easy removal.
