Anna Clara Monument

At Mount Pleasant Cemetery, one of the oldest cemeteries in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, stands this poignant grave marker in honor of a young woman who died too soon. There is religious symbolism with the display of a rose, a palm frond and sunflower(?) in a frame near the top of the stone. It is somewhat worn after over a century of exposure to the harsh freeze and thaw cycles of the seasons here in South Dakota but it is legible.
