Anatomical Skeletal Foot - Fully Articulated

Foot model designed to be fully articulated as opposed to being entirely loose bones or entirely fused bones.

Designed using existing individual bone models from BodyParts3D/Anatomography. Edited in Fusion360 to run a series of steel wires through for full articulation. Printed in generic white PLA.

Print all files with rafts and supports.

Original model size is intended for 1mm steel wire; if you're looking to adjust the scale, use a different wire size accordingly. A rudimentary wiring guide is pictured above; just feed the phalanges through their 5 respective lanes. A 6th wire runs through the tarsals to hold the foot together.

Wires are looped at the ends using standard precision pliers; pull the wire taut and twist over itself. The tightness of the loop will correlate to the tightness of the model's articulation.

Note: The sesamoids need to be glued onto a wire fed through a tunnel on the distal end on the first metatarsal (Big Toe). These bones are often skipped on a lot of professional models so you should get by leaving them out, but if you're after full anatomical accuracy you'll be wanting them included.
