I did this scan with a "Kinect for Windows", using "RecFusion" (http://www.recfusion.net/index.php/de/). The Advantage of this software is that You can record an object with a rather slow PC and do the creation of the actual 3D-object later. When You buy the program You get a "one-place-license" and whithout the license You can't export Your 3D-models. But it is possible to install the demo version on another PC and export Your recorded scene from there, so no need to buy two licenses.

It's not so easy to scan my dog. If I walk around him with my Kinect he will of course watch my every step. So the only way to scan him is while he's asleep. This one nearly worked. There were some "bald patches" in the scan which had to be filled by the software.
I've added an example of him sitting up which wasn't finished at all because he finally decided to turn his silly head :)
