Summary

Design files for two combs for the FisherBiotech Midi-Horizontal Electrophoresis System (Cat#FB-SB-1316). Both combs support loading with and 8 or 12 well multichannel pipet. The multichannel pipet loads adjacent wells with 14 well comb and every other well on the 28 well comb. The FB-SB-1316 box has slots for up to 4 combs, so an entire 96 well plate and markers can be loaded on one gel using the 28 well combs.

Post-Printing

Cleaning up any stringing between the teeth of the comb with ans Xacto knife is a good idea. Failing to do this can result in fine threads that cut a thin slot between wells when the comb is removed and leaking between wells when the gel is loaded.

How I Designed This

I designed this using Autodesk Inventer 2021. Parts file (.ipt) as well as STL files are included.
