Summary

This is a servo horn for the towel RC airplane. Although this is not needed to build the plane, I think this is a nice addition to the towels I have built.

Instructions

Print the servo horns and build a towel RC airplane. You can get the plans for the towel from Make Magazine's web site at https://makezine.com/projects/the-towel-rc-stunt-plane/

These servo horns can be mounted on the elevons with double sided tape and zip ties. I tend to use the hole that is furthest forward, but you can try different holes to adjust the position of the elevons when the controls are centered. Since the plane does not have shaped airfoils for wings, you fly at a bit higher angle of attack for level flight.

I printed this on my Ultimaker using normal settings in Cura. I used a heated bed at 70 degrees C. We built 4 towels today and the servo horns worked great.

I am not associated with Brooklyn Aerodrome in any way, but I am grateful for their work on the towel and enjoyed talking to them at the Maker Faire last year.
