I bolted this to a 3/4" piece of plywood using 6 10mm x 40mm bolts and 10mm nuts and washers. Also need 3 10 mm nuts for the mount bolts. I then bolted the plywood to the deck. Worked great now I don't have to polar align every time I use the mount.

I'm not sure how much weight this can take. Use at your own risk. I just using a small 51mm lens and dslr camera right now. Seems very strong.
