SARS-CoV-2 spike protein 6VXX

This is a cryo EM structure of the spike protein from SARS-CoV-2 (PDB 6VXX).

I printed it on a Prusa i3 MK3s MMU2s (0.4 mm nozzle, 0.15 mm layer height) and it took almost a week.

printing time: ~ 6 d

support removal: ~ 2 days

filament used: ~ 1kg (150 g marble for the pedestal, 3 x 280 g metallic for the protein)

filament cost: ~ 25 €
