NZXT H1 Ultimate GPU Airflow Mod (2x 140 mm Noctua)
I was unhappy with the cooling performance of the stock Gigabyte shroud. The fans were circulating the air more than sucking it in form outside. Also they were tiny and loud.
I was wondering what's the biggest size of fans i could fit in a tiny H1. After taking some measurements, I choose Noctuas NF-A15, which suit this case like a glove.
GPU height is a bit of an issue. With a 25mm tall heatsink on my GPU, i get a little bit of bending. Although it's not too bad.
You need:
- NZXT H1
- Deshrouded GPU, heatsink must not be taller than ~25mm (Distance from PCB top to heatsink top) (Gigabyte RTX 3070 Gaming OC works)
- 2x GPU fan to regular fan adaptor cable (Aliexpress is your friend)
- 2x Noctua NF-A15
- 8x M3 Nuts and Bolts (around M3x20 should work)
Instructions (also refer to the pictures)
- Print each bracket 4 times
- Remove your GPU and make sure the its heatsink is no taller than 25mm.
- Deshrout it. If you need to remove the heatsink, make shure you attach the fan adaptor cables before re-attaching the heatsink
- While you're at it, replace that fire hazardy GPU riser cable.
- Place your GPU, don't screw in the backpanel screws just yet.
- Route your cables and install the bottom fan fisrt and then the top one.
- Put in the 2 backpanel screws.
- Wire everything up. Done.
