Summary

This hand-sized spider is perfect for scaring someone you know! It prints out quickly - 2 hours for the body, 30 minutes for the legs.

Instructions

The sample was printed in ABS, but I'm sure PLA will work too.

Print the body with supports. I kept the fill low 10% and every 2 layers. The belly of the spider fused a bit to the plate. It might be a good idea to use a 4ish layer raft for a better bottom finish.

The legs are printed on a 2 layer raft with supports. When removing the legs from the print bed, keep track of each legs number - you'll need it for assembly. Remove only the parts of the raft and supports that fall away easily. the rest is left on to make the legs look hairy. Use the numbered picture to mark the location of the legs as you take them off the bed.

Paint:
Paint the hourglass shape and eyes using red paint. I used a paint marker. You may need to paint more than one coat.

Leg Assembly:
When looking at the spider body from above with the head up, the legs are placed like the numbers on a clock. Cement the legs in one at a time alternating sides. The legs will support the spider when dry, until then rest the belly of the spider on something about 1/2 inch high.

Antennae:
These should fit in either slot on the head. They will need to be supported until dry.
