Homemade counter weight for German Equatorial Mount with 1.25" diameter counter weight shaft.

For those who are using a telescope not massive enough to justify a 22lb counter weight.

The body and lid are printed with PLA, 4.5" diameter and 2" tall, the design is hollow. I filled with lead shot and is secured with a threaded lid.

The spacers I printed with TPU 100% infill and supports. The spacers are placed on both sides of the weight secured in place with hose clamps. Provides a softer grip to the rod in an attempt at preventing permanent damage while maintaining security assurance.

I estimate with my setup a single weight being about 8 pounds / 3.63 kg.
