My neighbor is a crane operator. For his birthday, I have designed a simple impression of a mobile crane. (I hope he is a better operater than I am a designer :-)

Instructions

This is in no way a "scaled" crane of any brand. As long as it is w.i.p., it might be a good idea to follow this thing or myself, so your dashboard will reflect my updates. Only print the components for the configuration you want! Modification 16-2-2013: beware: using filament 1.75mm for axix does not work well. I have uploaded an axis file. 3 complete axis and 3 made out of halves, which ever you like :-) I made the cabin in half, to add the possibility to hang the "Kubel" next to it. (Kubel is the Dutch name for the concrete dispenser) So you can choose a cabin over the full width, or just the half-width. Beware: Do not print the 'totaal' download(s). It is for documentation purpose only. Print one of everything else, except for the wheels. Print 6 of them, (or 7 if you want a spare). Maybe need to 'loosen' the arm segments a bit after printing as they are printed inside each other :-) I you use a hobby knife: be extremely carefull not to cut yourself ! The cabin is in 2 parts. Glue them together. Glue the "omloop"on the end of chassis. Glue the 2 endpoints in the outer and inner segments of the arm Use filament for axis. Use filament to connect the arm to the 'omloop' part of the body, so it can rotate up and down. Don't glue the segments to each other. Beware, there is no stop inside the segments. Maybe in a revision I will add that. The Kubel has to be fixed to the boom, by any means. You can use wire or filament, whatever. I am currently printing all parts and they seem to have a reasonable fit :-) Thomas
