pipe coat hook (15mm)
Have you got some 15mm pipes running vertically anywhere that would be nice to hang coats (or anything) on ? Like next to your front door perhaps ? Well I have. and since deciding to make these I noticed a fair few other uk houses do too. May also be found in airing cupboards. I have now tested these on hot pipes and although they stay in place on their own in my case they couldn't hold a coat. They may well hold something lighter I didn't try. Print in abs if you want to use them on a hot pipe.
Printed in PLA the shrinkage makes these a very tight fit, ABS shrinks less so may be a bit loose to hold anything heavy.
As you can tell this was thrown together EXTREMELY quickly to show somebody how easy tinkercad is, however the printed item works very well and looks nice and subtle.
From "hey shall I make one of these", the design and the actual printing it was clipped on the pipe in an hour and saving my bike from getting covered with one of my coats. So technically these things are a keep fit device.
I can make a tighter one or perhaps 22mm if required. I could also redesign for horizontal pipes, they seem secure enough to not rotate, unless you want it for your suit of armour. You can ask me to make a multi hook version but I suspect my response will be "just print more than one".
I printed with 3 shells, 15% infill PLA, it took about 30 minutes.
