Fence for drill press (pillar drill)

As I do wood and metal work on my drill press I don't like the wooden tables many build for them. Only a bit of oil and it is ruined forever. Instead I use a piece of B30x30mm aluminum profile (8mm slots) which I attached with special F-clamps. These were a pain in the butt and they also restricted how far down I could move the table down. Time to make a few printed pieces and while I was at it I also printed a piece to have a side stop. OK, OK, it ended up as two pieces too.
The star knobs are in my star knob collection (https://www.printables.com/model/157950-star-knob-collection-m6-and-m8), 30mm-M8-nut and nut-20mm-M6-nut (works for hex head screws too).

Besides the printed parts it requires two M8x50mm carriage bolts (fence clamp) and a hex head screw M6x25mm plus a M6 T-nut for the profile. As I had used up all these nuts and the replacement didn't arrive yet I printed them (B3030-nut, 2mm walls, 50% cubic infill, tree-support, brim). The carriage bolt heads are filed/ground to fit the profile.

Printed in PLA but every material except flexibles will do. 0.3mm adaptive layers, 30% cubic infill with dual lines, clip with support from bed only.

Caution! The clips only fit if the drill press table has a height of 23,5-24mm! If not you have to butcher the files or make your own. My Skil 3320 just has that size.

A more detailed project report in German language can be found on my website: http://www.pinzi.us/DIY/DIY-tools/DIY_tools.php . It is hidden in the Staenderbohrmaschine file. Google translate should take care of it for other languages.

2022-06-06 As I was asked for an easy to make clip version I cut the part into pieces top and bottom). If you put them together in the slicer with the faces just touching it can be used with 33.5-34.5mm tables. From there you can step it down for 20.5-21.5mm tables.
