razor blade holder (remix)

Trapezoidal razor blade holder. Based on a design by paradiddle65 [ http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:36722 ]. The original design was well done, but had two small shortcomings. It was held together by a single large screw in the middle of the holder that allowed the ends to separate slightly. The tolerances used for the locking channels were too loose.
The following changes were made to the original design. Two small M3x16mm replaced the single large center screw. The locking channels were lengthened and held to tighter tolerances. The material reduction area was replaced with an internal blade storage compartment. The compartment can store up to five extra blades and still reduces the amount of filament required to print the holder. The holder was also widened to 15mm. This was done to accommodate the M3x16mm screws that were readily available.
NOTE: The locking channel tolerances are a little tighter than expected. A couple of light strokes with a small file on the edges will aided the initial assembly. With use, this issue resolves itself.
U P D A T E D : Version 2

  • Relaxed locking channel tolerances
  • Added 1.5mm radius to handle edge
  • Added small "separation" notch
    U P D A T E D : Experimental Screwless Version
  • Original locking channel tolerances (friction fit)
  • Has discs to show "safe" screw locations
  • Retains all other Version 2 features
NOTE: I have NOT printed this. It should work based on my experiences with the other versions. If the friction fit should prove insufficient, the discs indicate locations "safe" to retro fit with screws. If feedback is provided, the version will be corrected.
