The first layer was never good, as visible in the photo with the blue PLA . As can be seen also in the mesh measured with the CR-Touch there is a clear variance of more than 0.5 mm. Furthermore, the measured surface can also be visually seen which has an evident downward bending. I thought the cause of this was the PEI plate that came with the printer, or the aluminum heating plate. So I experimented, put some more PEI plates and a GeeeTech glass SuperPlate secured with clips (not magnetic). Each time the mesh was done the result did not change. So I figured the problem was the extruded Y axis bar. Probably slightly crooked. I bought 2 linear rails from Aliexpress, 300mm long. Then I made a fixing bracket on the linear rails carriages to support the heating plate holder. After leveling the 4 corners I had the SonicPad create a mesh and I confirmed that the extruded bar of the Y was crooked. In fact, after installing the liner rails, the mesh has a variance of 0.12 mm and the first layer is practically perfect, see photo with the black PLA surface.<br>To install these linear rails, 2 spacers of 8 or more millimeters are needed to raise the extruded bar of the Y axis because the carriages have a larger footprint than the wheels with original bearings. I used two 10 mm thick aluminum blocks. One installed under the 4 screws towards the rear of the Y bar and the other under the 2 screws further forward. If you look at the photos you can see the two aluminum blocks under the Y bar. Obviously they have been drilled to allow the passage of the screws.<br>The fixing bracket was made in PetG. It is not a very hot area but if desired it can also be made in ABS.<br>I have been using the printer for several days after making this change and everything is working perfectly.<br>If you want, you can make 2 brackets instead of one like I did, so as to have more freedom of tolerance in case of linear rails different from mine.</p><p>Designed on Autodesk Fusion360<br>Sliced on PrusaSlicer<br>Printed on Creality Ender 3 S1 Pro with SonicPad (Klipper)</p></div>
