Rep 1 Filament Monitor Mount
A few months ago I purchased a set of Aaron Tunell's filament monitors that were posted here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:345216 Now, I knew that my mounting arrangement was going to be significantly different, because I long ago axed the rear mounted spools, and mounted them overhead, feeding straight down. This also got rid of the guide tubes. Also, I have the excellent acrylic hood made by Dave Randolph here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:23386
With this hood, and the spools overhead (or sitting on rollers on the hood itself), I just feed the filament through the slot left where the top and slanted front of the hood pieces meet. So where to mount the monitors? The answer seems to be, on the hood, fixed in that same slot. Though I haven't gotten the monitors wired in yet (need to extend cables), it seems to feed very well.
