Bike Wheel Truing Stand

Parts for building your own wheel truing stand.

The stand shown is made from 25x25 tubing. It consists of two sliding parts to accomodate hubs of differnt widths.
If you're not capable of welding you could construct a similar stand from of-the-shelve parts from e.g. minitec. In the fusion360 model the beam dimensions can be changed

Includes:

  • Adjustable Caliper
  • Parts for mounting the caliper on a 25x25mm square tube
  • Parts for mounting the caliper on a 15m tube
  • Parts for mounting the caliper on a M5 threaded rod
  • Axle mounts (for mounting on a 25x25mm tube)
  • 12mm-Tnru axle adapters

Caliper
The caliper can be adjusted with a M5 screw. The hole is dimensioned for cutting the M5 thread with a thread cutter after printing.

Use 5x16mm carriage bolts for fastening the caliper parts together.

For tensioning the caliper, use a elastic band or O-seal ring

I've included a larger caliper if you want to true a wheel with the tyre mounted.

Axle Mounts
Print the axle mounts with a high infill/wall thickness to support the compression force when using wheels with quick-release axles

Thru-axle adapter
With the thru-axle adapters you can use a Quick Release axle to mount the wheel in the truing stand
