Pelouze 4010 Digital Scale Repair Parts
These are 2 parts to repair Pelouze 4010 digital scales. There are similar scales branded as Rubbermaid and Dymo. There's also a model 4040 (400 lb.) scale that looks to be quite similar.
The first part is a replacement round foot for the bottom of the scale. This could be printed in TPU filament, although the original "rubber" feet are quite hard. I used ABS and it seems to work fine. This foot model can also be resized or scaled in height if you need the scale to sit flat on an uneven surface. It lacks the 2 pins on the back side that the original feet do. I just used some contact cement to stick it down in place, double sided tape would work as well.
The second part is a larger "pushing" surface for the 4 tactile dome switches. These scales seem to suffer from "worn out" buttons, especially the ON button as it needs to be pressed so many times, due to the default "Auto-OFF" function. This part should just press fit over the pins behind the front panel. This provides a larger surface area of contact with the dome switch for more reliable operation. I print these with a brim, then leave the brim on. You can see one "switch_pin" part pressed onto the back of the ON button in the photo of the opened scale display. May as well print 4 of the parts and do all 4 buttons for good measure. I've repaired 2 model 4010 scales using either this part or a variant and both went from inoperative to fully functional.
