Powermatic Model 66 Table Saw Insert
This Powermatic #66 Table Saw Insert uses either a 3D printed replaceable strip or one made of wood.
I have supplied a full size insert for those with a large format printer, and a split version for the rest of us with smaller printers.
I printed mine on a Prusa MK3S by splitting it in half and using crazy glue to put the 2 parts together.
I experimented with the Prusa Slicer Split Tool with plugs but eventually found it easier to glue together using 2 parts with a simple V cut.
If you prefer to use the full size one with the Cut too in your slicer that will work fine as well.
Years ago I had machined an insert for my Powermatic 66 out of aluminum on a Bridgeport milling machine. A photo is supplied.
I made the replaceable inserts for it out of maple or poplar on the saw itself. A very quick and simple job.
I made a bunch of those for different size blades.
Once you have the replaceable insert ready to go (either wooden ones, or ones from your 3d Printer) simply raise the running saw blade up through the replaceable insert.
Make sure the insert is held in place by putting the fence over the part where the blade will NOT cut through.
1/4" x 20 threaded holes are added for adjustment.
One option to purchase 1/4 x 20 screws is available here:
