SS River Clyde

This is a model of the tramp steamer, SS River Clyde, which was converted into a Landing Craft Infantry (LCI). She participated in the landings on Gallipoli, 1915. The ship was run aground deliberately near Cape Helles.

The model includes the metal MG pillboxes that were installed on the foredeck, as well as the access holes cut in the hull.

She is 16 cm long, as designed, but can be scaled. The model shows below the normal waterline, as she was positioned after being run aground.
