Summary

Fully 3D printed Bearings are cool and all, but lets be honest they just don't run smooth enough to be really useful in anything. So I designed a 3D Printed Ball Bearing that utilizes actual steel balls.
-Prints all the parts in one go
-Doesn't require support material
-Runs very smooth and quite
-Dimension Drawings included so you can design your own!

Instructions

-First purchase a big ol bag of 0.25" steel ball bearings from McMaster-Carr, Product #96455K52, or from where ever else you can find them
-After you've printed and cleaned up the parts, place the outer race on a smooth flat surface. place the inner race inside the outer race. scoot the inner race over to the side till it touches the inner race. this should give you a large enough gap on the opposite side to fit the ball bearings in-between the races.
-This Step takes a little patience, the number of slots on your ball cage is the number of steel balls you have to place in-between your races. once there all in place use needle nose pliers or some other narrow tool to arrange the balls evenly around the races. this should lock the races in place and the balls should no longer fall out.
-Lastly take the ball cage and snap it on over the steel balls, if the slots don't line up use pliers again to shift the balls till they line up.
-Your Done! a little WD-40 will go a long way in ensuring your bearing runs smooth and quite.
