LVT like Vehicle
Wanted to make something similar to the LVT/LVT(A) from the second world war for the Imperial Guard. Mostly because I like the historic tank and also because it just makes kind of sense I think.
Note that all parts labelled "HighRes" are recommended to be printed with high resolution techniques. "LowRes" should work as FDM print with lower resolution, the "MidRes" parts I'm unsure of. Might work with a low resolution, might be necessary to print it with a high resolution. If it's the same for you, I recommend higher.
The files are kind of a "two for one" deal. Now how to do it:
Step one: print all the "Base" files, this will give you the basic hull with ramp, tracks and some slots for 5mm magnets in the upper front IF you want to make the top interchangable between the transport version and the amphibious tank (see down below). Base2_ramp_fixation should be glued to the hull in a way that the ramp in the back can still be moved.
The Bolter (Base9) and the track guards (Base 8) are optional. It still looks okay without trackguards and one should be able to use the usual Chimera hull weapons.
Step two: if you want an amphibious tank, you should print the parts labelled Alligator. You'll notice the space for two 5mm magnets in the front if you want to switch between both model variants. The Multilasers are optional. I like them for the rear gunners, but you might as well use a heavy stubber or something like that. You'll only need ONE of the turret Adapters, depending on what kind of turret you want to fix there. Two of them are for the GW turrets, the others have either a large 20mm diameter hole or space for a 5mm magnet.
You can find fitting turrets in my designs including Chimedon (Conquerer or Eradicator cannon) Chimerax (4x Multilaser for anti air) and Chimerro (different Versions of single Multilaser + rechargable Hunter Killer Missile)
Step three: if you prefer an Amphibious transport, print the parts labeled as "Kelpy" instead (or additionally if you want to switch). The transport space should be big enough for a Tauros Venator, A Sentinel on a base (potentially two, if the bases can overlap) or 10x 25mm bases.
Have fun
