Hi all! This is Eddie. He is a very small self balancing robot that was inspired by SparkFun Electronics for making really cool building blocks and Intel for making the Edison.

From SparkFun I used the Edison Battery Block to power Eddie. The 9DOF Block for inertial measurements. A Base Block for terminal access and the OTG port for the USB camera. And finally the Dual H-bridge Block for controlling the two motors.

The motors and wheels came from Pololu. I went with 200 rpm high power micro metal gearmotors and 60mm wheels on this first build.

With the 400mAh battery, USB camera streaming video, his run time is about 1 hour 15 minutes.

Eddie can be remote controlled via WiFi.
