Statue of Freedom - US Capitol

The data for this model was captured using Autodesk 123D Catch on an iPhone 5. The object is actually a 1:1 plaster model of the bronze statue which adorns the top of the US Capitol Building in Washington DC. The plaster model is in the basement Visitor Center.

There is some lack of detail, particularly in the face/head region due to the fact that I couldn't get the angles there, but I'm overall pretty impressed with the outcome of the scan.

There was minimal effort needed to fill some holes, trim it down, and add a base, and now you can print off your own scale replica of a piece of American History!
