Galaxy Express 999 (銀河鉄道999) Themed Elevation Set for Kato Unitrack

This is a custom elevation set I designed for a Galaxy Express 999 (銀河鉄道999) themed N-Scale model railroad layout I am working on. I designed these for Kato Unitrack. The pylons are designed to stick into pink foam board (Foamular) with the Kato trackbed to be attached at the top. These worked somewhat ex expected but if I were to redesign these I'd change the spikes on the bottom to more of a cone shape. If anyone is interested in using them, or remixing them, feel free. The spikes tended to flex as designed when sinking them into the layout base and so I ended up punching guide holes and securing them with super glue. I also ended up securing the track to the top of each pylon with dabs of super glue while laying and leveling the track. Further, I'd recommend if using these to go over each track section between pylons with a spirit level to make sure the track is level, and any joins that end up suspended between them I would also re-enforce as any track flexing or twisting can cause derailments. I don't recall if these are numbered in order, but the way I used them was to space them out 4 inches. For a ~2% grade, you can use all of them with this spacing or if you want a ~4% grade (which I used for a downward slope, my layout is designed to run in one direction.) then just use every other pylon or space them at 2 inches.

I printed this on one of my FDM printers with PETG filament, though I originally intended to do these in resin. If you use resin I would make sure that the resin has some give and is not too brittle.

I am currently adding videos on this project to my youtube channel which you can see here. Episode 2 will cover the actual build process for the layout. As I mention in the first video I am no expert on any of this and this is my first foray into building a layout.
