VW Mk1 & MK2 HVAC Selector Repair Parts

A couple of small pieces to help you repair a common failure point in the VW HVAC cool/hot selector used in many VWs in the 70s and 80s.
This is specifically made for 161 820 045A and 161 820 045B, but probably fits more.

On the selector is metal clamp that holds a cable in place. This cable is used to open and close the coolant value in the engine bay.

There is a common failure point, which the plastic piece that holds the metal clamp breaks and the selector can no longer adjust the valve in the engine bay.

The select parts are becoming very hard (and expensive) to find. This recently happened to me, so I made some support parts enabling repair of the selector.

To use this, you need to have the broken piece, and you can super glue the broken part on with these support pieces to make the repair.

I managed to fix it while it was still in the car. Let the glue fully cure, be careful to no add extra stress when re-installing the cable
