Looking for a great gift for valentines day how about a colour changing rose. This is a remake of http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:152642 by XYZWorkshop only with a twist, just by placing your finger over the two wires at the end of the stem allows you to switch the LED on and change the colour of the rose.

Instructions

Components:
5mm LED x 1
A13 1.4v Batteries x 2
BCX38C transistor x 1
Single core telephone cable
Drinks straw 3mm O/D - for rose stem

Rose requires drilling out to 5mm to accept LED

Assemble the LED and Batteries into the holder. You will need to bend the legs of the LED over to make it fit. Handy tip is to mark the positive and negative ends of the LED on the holder.

Slide single core wire between the positive and negative ends of the batteries to allow you to connect up the transistor and LED.

Solder the positive wire of the batteries to the positive leg of the LED and a long length of single core wire that will slide down the stem.

The middle leg of the transistor requires the same a long length of wire to be soldered on to it. This then slides down the stem to allow you to switch the LED on and off

The transistor requires two more connections to be soldered one leg to the LED and the other to the negative end of the batteries
