Dupont connector crimping aid jig
$1500 for a crimper for only one type of connector?!??!?!
screw that, I'll make my own
this jig is for the female Dupont connector that is common for Arduino, RAMPS, stepper motor extensions, PC custom cables and everything else that uses the 0.1in (0.254mm) pin spacing
the oddball cutaways are for trimming the stripped section for your wire to 2mm to fit the bare metal crimp section, without interfering with the spring, and still having the insulation crimp section able to bite into the insulation for strain relief. the long slot is for the knife to like up
these connectors are TINY, I dropped one three times in a row while test fitting this jig. you can use longer M3 screws to bolt this to a larger framework and allow you to be even a little more hands free
22AWG, because that seems the most common wire and connector size for this application
or I'll release a V2 after a bit of field testing.
