Rubik's cube (classic style)
This is a famous Hungarian engineer Rubik puzzle cube. I'm designed this model myself in FreeCAD.
It has a next parts:
1 core (no support needed, 4 walls of 0.4 mm, 0% infill)
6 center "cubes" (no support needed, 3 walls of 0.4 mm, 20% infill)
8 corner "cubes" (support needed, 3 walls of 0.4 mm, 0% infill)
12 edge "cubes" (support needed, 3 walls of 0.4 mm, 0% infill)
6 pins for connect center parts to core (no support needed, 100% infill)
54 pads (in 6 different colors, no support needed, 100% infill).
Unlike my Dice Cube, this model has zero tolerance. Before assembling the cube, you need to remove the supports with a knife.
Instruction of assembly:
- Connect each pin into center cube with a click sound. See that a hole in center cube has a groove and a pin has a skirt.
- Insert a central cube into the core with a click sound.
- Put this part on a table and assembly all of cubes (4 edges and 4 corners).
- Insert another 4 central cubes into the core.
- Put 4 edge cubes at a middle plane in according order.
- Put 4 edge and 4 corner cubes at top plane.
- Insert a central cube into the core with a click sound.
- Put all of pads into cubes with glue (e.g. dichloromethane aka methylene chloride).
For the best result, it is necessary to lubricate the internal rubbing parts with Teflon grease.
