DND Prop: Magic Square and Pieces
It's just a simple D&D prop I made for our table. It's a fun puzzle for players to solve. If players are stuck and need help, a DC check can reveal that the number 5 goes in the center. The rest can be figured out easily. It's a simple puzzle where all rows, columns, and diagonals add up to 15.
I didn't invent the Magic Square concept, it's been around for literally thousands of years. I just created this specific design in TinkerCAD.
The tiles are 3/8" tall and 1" by 1" length and width.
The base is 1/4" tall and 4" by 4" length and width.
The pieces are beveled at the bottom and slot into the board easily. I've included magnetic and non magnetic version of the magic square.
If you want to print the magnetic version, you'll need supports on the pieces and eighteen 6x3mm round magnets from Amazon. Link is here: https://a.co/d/2FVsID6
But it's entirely unnecessary to use magnets. You can print the non magnetic version just fine without supports and it'll work just as well. It's really just personal preference.
And to be thorough, I've included each number piece as individual STL files in Magnetic and NonMag forms. You don't really need them, but they're there in case you want to print them as different colors, if one misprinted, if you lost one, or whatever.
I like having options and I'm betting y'all do too.
