Summary

For the fans of our app firewall Little Snitch, we have created some fun merch: a fridge magnet and a keychain item!

This is an easy, low-cost print with two filament changes on a single material printer. You can print multiple items at once to save time and mix magnets and keychains on the same build plate. The Prusa MK2/3/4 build plate easily accepts 20 items or even more.

Instructions for single material printer

This print is in three colors and you need to change filament manually. This can be done by inserting a color change or pause command in your slicer where the filament should be changed.

We recommend the following settings:

Choose a layer height of 0.2 mm by default.
Choose sparse infill of 15 to 20% by default.
Insert a color change or pause at the beginning of the layer at height 3.2 mm
Insert a color change or pause at the beginning of the layer at height 3.6 mm
Set a height range modifier for height 3.6 to infinity and set
- sparse infill density to 50% or more and
- layer height to 0.1 mm.
clone the object as often as you like.

To insert the color change or pause command in PrusaSlicer:

First slice the model as-is.
In the preview pull the layer slider to the desired height.
Right-click the layer slider at the height and choose “Add Color Change” from the context menu.

BambuStudio is a clone of PursaSlicer and these instructions apply analogously.

On Cura, open the “Extensions” menu, select “Post Processing” and click “Modify G-Code”. In the new window, click on “Add a script” and select “Pause at height” from the options in the menu.

Start with a light blue filament. Change it to white at the first pause and to orange in the second. All filaments should be of the same material (e.g. all PLA).

Instructions for multi material printer

Load your multi material unit with light blue, white and orange filament of the same material (e.g. all PLA).

Choose a layer height of 0.2 mm by default.
Choose sparse infill of 15 to 20% by default.
Choose the blue filament as default.
Insert a height range modifier for height 3.2 mm to 3.6 mm, changing filament to white.
Insert a height range modifier for height 3.6 mm to infinity, changing
- filament to orange,
- infill density to 50% or more and
- layer height to 0.1 mm.
clone the object as often as you like.

Inserting the magnet

The refrigerator magnet version has a hole in the bottom which takes a 6x3 mm magnet. These magnets can be bought in quantities for a good price at your local store or at Amazon, if you prefer an online purchase. Just search for “magnet 6x3”.

Inserting the magnet needs some force to ensure that it remains firmly in place. Use a vice or pipe wrench if it is too tight for manual insertion. If it's too loose, add some glue.
