Mentos 2L Fountain

2L Geyser and Mentos Trip Pin

This is a trip pin designed for use with a 2L bottle and Mentos to create a controlled geyser experiment. I originally developed this for my class as we explored the science behind geysers and chemical reactions.

Instructions:

1. Secure the Trip Pin: Wrap a piece of tape around the neck of the 2L bottle and the trip pin to ensure it stays in place during the experiment.
2. Set Up the Trip Wire: Insert a string through the designated hole in the trip pin to act as your trip wire. This helps you activate the geyser from a safe distance, reducing the risk of getting splashed.
3. Insert Mentos: Place the Mentos into the pin mechanism, making sure they are properly aligned for release.
4. Stand Back: Gently pull the string to release the Mentos into the soda, triggering the geyser.

This setup allows for a safe and controlled way to study the reaction between Mentos and soda. Perfect for classroom use or outdoor experiments!
